“We learn nothing from those who say: «do as I do». Our only teachers are those who tell us to «do with me»”. (Gilles Deleuze. Difference & Repetition, 1968).
Being together is much more than being in a simple addition of single individualities. It is a way to have cooperation within diversity, a way to create, grow and learn.
Together is a project where each designed layer responds to everyday spatial politics with decisive interaction. Everyday situations of cooperation will be the identity of the project and the reference of the proposal.
Who am I working with? What will I share with him or her? Who is going to pass through my place?
Working together is a necessary exercise in order to innovate, develop and undertake the needs of contemporary society. Three strategies of building relationships between different agents articulate the aim of the proposal: (1) Superimpose different kind of spaces in order to have unexpected exchanges, (2) Create in-between spaces in order to share common infrastructures, and (3) Fill one kind of space with another one in order to provoke influence between users.
The result, an architectural system that assumes the complexities of this necessary but incomprehensibly weakened working mode of everyday cooperation in many aspects of our life. A singular building is the place where cooperation between different people from different fields will take place. At the same time, new public space areas is designed to make the disconnected pieces of the city come together.
Bruck an der Mur and the nearby cities of Leoben and Kapfenberg have the necessary geographical and infrastructural conditions, to develop together this project.
